Fan Funded Album - Hey! Hello! Is Top Of The Pop-RocksThe self titled album Hey! Hello! is sitting rather comfortably in the midweek top 20 charts. From its current rather high perch of number 12 also being the top album of its genre within the same charts. Watching over some rather hugely backed albums including Daft Punk - Random Access Memories, The Rolling Stones - Live In Hyde Park, Calvin Harris - 18 Months, Imagine Dragons - Night Visions and even topping Justin Timberlake's - The 20/20 Experience.
To be top of the pop-rocks with the highest album of its genre being number 1 in the official UK Rock Album Charts and 12 in the main midweek album chart is an amazing feat especially despite not having any backing from major record labels due to being a "lost cause" or "too old" it has also been noted that no Ginger related material appears in the mainstream Rock Magazine Kerrang for pretty much the same reasons. This is much to Gingers disbelief and masks the future of the more underground UK Rock bands as noted from his twitter account over the last couple of days, to which I thoroughly agree, to have a band exist with such a devout fanbase that is then deemed as too old for the rest of the public to know about seems immoral and childish, Is Bon Jovi too old, what about The Stones. Anyway were not here to argue we are here to have fun & that's exactly what Hey! Hello! is all about, for that reason I am totally backing the album. The band if you've not heard of them before consist of US Vocalist Victoria Liedtke along with multi instrumentalist and singer Ginger Wildheart famous for his role as frontman of The Wildhearts, The duo make wonderful Post Punk/Pop/Rock records, most of which are just as catchy as any Wildhearts record that has been written, with the added influences and vocals from Victoria make Hey! Hello! music a band to keep a very close eye on, especially as now they are making the limelight that they deserve.
And to top it all off, all of this is for YOU the fans who made the pledge work, pledgemusic has a number of artists generally trying to raise funds to bring you new music that the major record labels will not entertain, Gingers previous pledge raised over 555% of the pledges that he required to make the album which also ended up winning awards after it was released last year. The pledge system surely is a platform that makes sense as long as the fans are willing to purchase the music.
