The Lounge Launch Night 2nd April 2014
Dev From Little London #Livemusicneedsyou
Well it's not often a new night in Portsmouth comes along and takes off especially on a Wednesday, However I was very hopeful for tonight's Launch night of revamped venue The Lounge, Formerly known as EQ and some of you may remember going to regular club nights Subversion and The Go Off amongst other popular events, The 300+ capacity venue boasting a new sound system, revamped interior and most importantly a stage has now been fitted making this an ideal venue for live music.
I do need to mention that there were a few hickups but nothing that can't be ironed out for the next event, The main one being as there was no age limit set on the tickets the venue had to enforce a no alcohol policy, However this did make for an interesting sight, seeing the bands and fans all stood outside chatting and drinking tinnys, It took me back to a time when that was the pre drinking norm.
The next event I'm told is going to be strictly over 18's with I.D being taken on the door. Ok so enough about the venue for the time being, The bands are the main focus here.
Saints Of SinZenthetiXWestern SandVelvetineLittle LondonWell the rumours are true Portsmouth borne band Little London are back from a rather long hiatus boasting a line-up of members that haven't played live together for 6 years.
Although new drummer Kris Walden has been recruited and will stay with the band for the immediate future.
There was even a moment where guest singer Nic Nero came on stage.
The reunion was everything I hoped and expected it to be from the first riff all the way through to the final, They added new material in along with a selection of top favourites including "Corporate Direction" "Small Town Coma" "Jacked N Coke" And of course one of the bands most known tracks "Love Reaction"
Little London have more bookings currently in process and will be updating the fansite as and when details emerge for more information please check out https://www.facebook.com/LittleLondonBandFansite
