Zebrahead - The Wedgewood Rooms 2014
Having booked up as soon as I heard that Zebrahead were coming back to Portsmouth, I was excited to see this time that due to Goldfinger having to pull out of the tour they not only had the opportunity to headline their own tour but they also had Kids Cant Fly as support.

ZebraheadDespite playing a couple of months prior in the same city, Zebrahead still managed to nigh on sell out Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms, and it's not surprising why, Pop Punk usually has a certain amount of flow about it and Zebrahead are definitely amongst the greats in this genre. Especially when you consider the way the band blasted through a set of 19 songs whilst still keeping the crowd entertained throughout.
One of the newer songs "Call Your Friends" from the same titled 2013 album was featured before calling upon a brace of German dancers. When "The Drinking Song" started the dancers were enticed to drink and dance, at this point I feel I should mention that Zebrahead are the only band I have ever seen with their own bar-man on stage mixing drinks whilst they play, brings a whole new meaning to the term "mixing on stage".
The four song encore started off with the Germans being called upon to dance to a power metal version of "The Drinking Song", This was followed up by "Rescue Me", "I'm Just Here For The Free Beer" and finishing the gig off with "Anthem"
After the gig we were greeted by a Limousine heading to the after show party which was held at Skye Bar
Arriving at Skye Bar in the Limousine for the after show party, which continued into the small hours, it wasn't surprising that with one of the bands' motto's being "Party Time?.. All The Time!" there was already plenty of shots lined up ready and waiting, well a nice cold can of Monster for me obviously.
Zebraheads earlier appearance this year was of course at The Portsmouth Guildhall supporting Reel Big Fish and Less Than Jake the photos from that particular gig can be found Here
