Car-Fest South 2013 - Live Stage - Sunday 25-08-2013Sunday the final day at Car-Fest South, The cars had all finished their batches running up the hillclimb so a majority of the crowds made their way across the track crossings to get to the Live Stage area, The reason being Renee & Sinatro with the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra were about to start the evening off, I was surprised when I noticed that the female singer was in fact Renee from Renee And Renato. They are the best Swing band I have seen live, playing hits from "How Do You Like Your Eggs In The Morning" to "Something Stupid"
Continuing the evening with another covers band, The Ultimate Eagles started their set on the Seasick Steve Stage, they played for almost an hour, They certainly sounded great and played songs across all of The Eagles albums to celebrate the 40th Anniversary. I think the lead singer wooed the crowd quite a bit as well.
After a very short break it was time for Scouting For Girls to have their time on stage, Full of enthusiasm the band leaped and bounded through their set from one hit song to the next, The crowd certainly were fanatical about the band waving all sorts of items around sporting the Bands abbreviated name, some had even written it on their faces.
Then it was the Cakes Vs Pies Competition Final for the best efforts over the weekend, Judged by The Great British Bake Off's judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry, However as the voters left a hard decision to make between the winning cake and the winning pie James Martin was asked to step up to the plate as a guest judge.
After a short interval it was time for Amy Macdonald to come along and play a forty five minute set telling her stories in her own melodic way. Again another artist I was really looking forward to seeing over the weekend, I must admit that I was so captivated by her music I spent the duration of the set sat on the side of the stage.
It was Amy's birthday, not one to make a fuss Chris Evans came on stage to congratulate Amy for playing and then insisted that she stayed on stage whilst he and the vast crowd serenaded her.
Simeon Wood shows us all what to do with your walking aids once you are finished with them, don't leave them in the corner of the porch learn to play the flute on them instead. This was actually quite magical to watch although very odd at the same time.
Emma Stevens was up next on the Seasick Steve Stage, having never heard of Emma before I wasn't sure what to expect especially after watching a man playing his crutch, I was surprised and left wanting to listen to more of Emma's music and I'm sure I will be hearing some more of this artist in the near future.
Of course Chris Evans made his penultimate appearance of the night to introduce Jools Holland And His Rythm And Blues Orchestra to the main stage
Jools played the evening out with great success with an army of famous artists on stage accompanying him, This is the first time I have had a chance to see Jools Holland live and I almost certainly will see him again on the next tour.
