Silverstone Classic 2014 - Live Music Page - Saturday
The second day of racing was almost over, however there were still a couple of races left to run as the music stage became live again. Cameras in hand I headed over to the live music stage area and found myself a spot on track where I could easilly make it back in time to catch some of the bands and then get back to the on track action so as to get the best of both worlds.
Jim Stapley Band - SoundcheckWhen I got to the stage area the Jim Stapley Band were nearing the end of their sound-check so I decided to sit in for the last couple of songs so that I could get a feel for the band ahead of their performance later that evening.
Mo EvansFrom my viewpoint on track I heard the first band starting up so I made my return to the stage to watch Mo Evans, who I am told is a new up and coming artist, there were a few catchy songs in the set.
They seem to have an easy going yet pop rock sound, the addition of a double bass had me grinning from ear to ear, as anyone who knows me well enough will tell you I do love a double bass or three.
Jim Stapley BandThe next band up were The Jim Stapley Band, I found them very harmonious and although frontman hails from Manchester they had a more classic american rock and roll feel to them, think of a slightly Nickelback infused Black Stone Cherry with Brian Adams esque vocals and you are pretty much there.
I hadn't quite noticed in the soundcheck but the band also had a couple of familiar faces performing backing vocals, Yola Roller and Mollie Marriott.
Certainly a band to look out for in the near future.
Motown Revue: Signed Sealed And DeliveredMotown Revue were next up performing hits from the motown era, Patrick Alan from the Drifters was not only performing but he was also the compère introducing special guests to the stage.
Including The Voice's Alex Buchanan.
X-Factor finalist Chenai Zinyuku
And also Zalon Thompson the ex right hand man and backing singer for the late great Amy Winehouse.
Hot Air Baloon Send OffThe track lit up again whilst Mowtown Revue played, as the Hot Air balloon teams furiously battled against the high air pressure to inflate the balloons, which led to just having a bit of fun by letting off the fire to the rhythm of the songs that were being played.
Bonnie TylerThe final artist to play at this years Silverstone Classic was of course, Bonnie Tyler, I will be honest I had been looking forward to this performance for a good few months prior to the event.
Having never seen Bonnie perform before this was one performance that I could successfully tick off of my bucket list, the hits just kept on coming and never failed to amaze myself along with the rest of the audience.
